TECH TIP FROM THE FIELD 🔧
We’ve been seeing an increase in GE French-door refrigerators with fresh food cooling complaints tied to known GE service bulletins.
GE is aware of the issue and is addressing it.
Common symptoms include: • Fresh food section warming up
• Freezer still cooling normally
• Loud evaporator fan noise
• Intermittent temperature swings
• Ice buildup around the evaporator fan
• Error codes 106, 107, or 108
In many cases, the issue is related to the fresh food evaporator fan motor and updated control board software — not a sealed system failure like many homeowners are told.
Proper diagnosis matters. We follow manufacturer service procedures and updated repair information to help avoid unnecessary part replacement.

There’s been a recent service update affecting certain models. In most cases, it’s not a safety issue, but it can cause problems with how the machine runs.

I’ve been seeing things like:

🧼 FRONT LOAD WASHER NOT DRAINING? SMELLY? THROWING CODES?
Before you call for service, try this 👇
Your washer has a drain filter that can get clogged with:
• Coins
• Bobby pins
• Pet hair
• Lint buildup
• Small socks
When that filter clogs, you may notice:
✔️ Slow draining
✔️ Water left in the drum
✔️ Musty odor
✔️ Error codes
✔️ Washer won’t spin
Cleaning it only takes a few minutes and can save you a service call.
⚠️ Pro Tip: Put a towel down first — water WILL come out.
If you clean it and you're still having issues, that usually means:
• Drain pump failure
• Pressure switch issues
• Control board problem
That’s when it’s time to call a pro.

⚠️ SERVICE BULLETIN NOTICE – WHIRLPOOL & MAYTAG TOP-LOAD WASHERS ⚠️

Whirlpool has released a mandatory service bulletin affecting certain Whirlpool and Maytag top-load washers with serial numbers beginning with CX or CD.

Issue:
Some units may develop a wiring problem at the drain pump that can cause:
• Washer not draining
• F9E1 drain error
• Cycle not completing
• Intermittent operation

This is NOT a recall, but it is a known manufacturer issue with an approved repair procedure.

If you own one of these models and your serial number starts with CX or CD, or if you’re experiencing any draining or cycle issues, call us right away.

The sooner we catch this problem, the cheaper and easier the repair usually is. Waiting can lead to wiring damage or pump failure, which increases repair cost.

If you have one of the affected GE/Café/Monogram built-in models and you’re seeing ice buildup on the freezer wall or hearing a fan noise/ticking, there is a known issue addressed in a GE service bulletin.
