Well, the day has come to an end. I’ve had a few hours to download today’s experience.
I never snapped the first picture so I’m gonna post one that Josh got.
We were so involved with starting machines, helping fold, carrying laundry and just having conversations with people.
In 4 hours we were able to donate $467.50 worth of laundry machine starts and lots of tide pods!
Simply put I’d never been able to pull this off without the help of First Southern Baptist Pomeroy and their help. Joshua Fisher and the girls, Carol Reed, Jeff Needs a huge thanks for your help, and thanks for bringing the tide pods!
To say the day was humbling was an understatement. Everyone was so thankful, and we were grateful that so many came.
We had some folks tell us that today because we offered free laundry, they didn’t have to pick between laundry, and groceries. I’ve thought about that all afternoon and evening.
Don’t we all take for granted the times we run thru a drive thru to grab dinner and spend $30? Now, imagine that $30 having to be split between laundry and groceries.
That really just stinks that people are having to live that way in retirement after working their whole lives. It’s been happening for a long time I know, but seeing and hearing about it today and be told the difference made, makes it more real and more sad.
We have a lot to be thankful for, so many of us and we will give GOD thanks and all the glory.
If you’re looking for a church tomorrow morning feel free to swing by First Southern Baptist Pomeroy , on Pomeroy Pike by Meigs ER. We always have hot coffee on, and welcome packs for all our guests. 9:30 Bible Study, 10:45 Worship
