I was a big fan of the Mrs Meyers brand and used their products in my home and the home of my client for years.
I was having some side effects and after reading the lung study I started researching their ingredients and found their “all natural” ingredient claims aren’t really all natural like they advertise. The main reason Mrs. Meyer's products are questionable is because of the fragrance they add to all of their products.
Why is this a big deal? Because the fragrance industry is protected by patent/ trade secret laws, which allow them to hide ingredients. When you see an ingredient labeled "Fragrance" you should question it. Legally companies can combine almost 3,000 ingredients and call them “fragrance”.

Fragrance mixtures have been associated with allergies, dermatitis, respiratory distress, potential harm to the reproductive system, a known endocrine disruptor, and a possible carcinogen.
There are over 3,000 other potential ingredients hidden under the term “fragrance”. A few examples of toxic ingredients are phthalates, octoxynols, and nonoxynols. All three of these are known hormone disruptors and phthalates are linked with birth defects especially in baby boys.
Other ingredients that Mrs Meyers uses are:
-Methylisothiazolinone which was named allergen of the year a few years back is linked to skin issues, high concern for acute aquatic toxicity, and neurotoxicity. Methylisothiazolinone has is banned in Europe, Canada, and Japan. 🤧🇯🇵 🇨🇦
-Dimethylcyclohexyl, which is
flammable/combustible and can cause toxic effects if inhaled or ingested. Contact with substance may cause severe burns to skin and eyes and vapors may cause dizziness or asphyxiation. 🔥😵💫💀
-Allyl 3-cyclohexylpropionate which is very toxic to aquatic life, is toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects, is harmful if swallowed, is harmful in contact with skin and may cause an allergic skin reaction.

-Allyl heptanoate which should only be used with face shield/eye protection, skin protection/gloves and respiratory protection. 😳🫁
Ummmmmmm….I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be using any of these “all natural” ingredients in my home or my clients home and I do NOT recommend that you do either!
