Couldn't let today go by without saying a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Brittany Keyes on her 1 year anniversary of owning ServiceMaster of the Berkshires. We always say that you learn something new everyday & Brittany certainly has. From water and fire damages, mold remediation and hoarding clean up, she tackles it all and through all the stress and challenges that go along with business ownership, she still smiles. She's had an amazing year & we all couldn't be more proud of her. Here's to many more successful years ahead! 🥂

First Floor Level Locations on North and South Street are invited to compete for the title of “Best Decorated Windows for the Holidays” in this free contest sponsored by RSI Signs and Downtown Pittsfield, Inc.

To participate, you must be a First Floor Level Location on North and South Street between West Housatonic Street and Wahconah Street.

The public will be the judge! Online voting will be conducted from December 16 through December 27. Voting will be via a Google Form.

Participating locations will receive a flyer to put in their window with the QR code for voting and some small handwritten ballots that can be dropped off to the DPI mailbox.

RSI Signs is excited to offer the Essentials Package as the prize for the winner of the “Best Decorated Windows for the Holidays” - a $500 value!!

We would like to take a moment of your time to thank those who have shared your thoughts, prayers, and comforting words with Officer Michael Silver's family, as well as his brothers and sisters at PPD.

Members of the department, several members of his SWAT Team, along with the Berkshire County Sheriff's Office, and the Massachusetts State Police made their way to the Medical Examiner's Office in Westfield late this afternoon to give him a proper return back home. On our return as the procession exited in Lee, dozens of other Berkshire County Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS departments joined the procession. To those who lined the overpasses, streets, and finally around the Pittsfield Police Department for Officer Silver's final roll call, WE THANK YOU. Michael's family thanks you💙

It is with great sadness that Chief Thomas Dawley announces the unexpected death of Pittsfield Police Officer Michael Silver. Officer Silver began his career with PPD in 2008 after graduating from the State Police Municipal Academy. Officer Silver was a member of the Berkshire County Special Response Team since 2016 as a Senior Tactical Operator and was assigned to the department's Traffic Unit. Ofc. Silver was dedicated to the profession of being a police officer and was highly respected by his peers.

Officer Silver briefly served with the Lee Police Department in 2015. Officer Silver was a certified MPTC Instructor in several areas. Officer Silver received several letters of commendation, a Weapons Seizure Award recipient, along with a Drug Buster Award.

Chief Dawley, along with members of the Pittsfield Police Department extend our deepest condolences to the Officer Silver's family, friends, and those who knew him. At this time, the department will not be releasing any more information and request privacy for Officer Silver's family.

Rest in peace Ofc. Michael Silver Call Sign #403, your brothers and sisters in blue will take it from here.

Congratulations to Brittany as she returns from completing an intense 3 week "New owner Academy" training in Memphis Tennessee. Brittany has earned certifications in Fire, smoke & odor remediation, trauma cleaning, Water damage remediation & Applied Structural Drying, (ASD) These are mandatory trainings and certifications through the IICRC, a governing body in our industry. During the ASD training she got to flood a demo house that is inside of a large warehouse then learn about the various building materials and how to dry them properly, including going under the house to properly dry from below. The hands on training is followed by intense hours long testing to show your knowledge of each course & the science of dying. ServiceMaster Academy also brings leading industry partners to provide training on various software programs, industry standards & the most current technology required. Although Brittany had 10 years experience before attending "Academy" & probably knew more than some of the instructors, she returns with even more knowledge to share with her technicians and office staff.
