Today completely broke me, both physically and emotionally.
I took on a deep cleaning job today that was severely underpriced because the information I was given wasn't accurate. But when I arrived, my heart shattered. The client is a senior citizen who relies on a walker. Because of his mobility challenges, doing regular, everyday chores is simply impossible for him.
I have been scrubbing and working for 8 hours straight today, and I am still not done. >
My body hurts, I am exhausted, and financially this was a loss. But I couldn’t in good conscience walk away and leave him living in those conditions when he physically cannot fix it himself.
We HAVE to look out for our seniors. >
This is a massive wake-up call. When mobility goes, it is so incredibly easy for our elderly to fall through the cracks and live in conditions they don't deserve. Please, I am begging everyone to get involved. Check on your neighbors. Check on your grandparents. Don't just call—go over, knock on the door, and see if they need help with regular chores. They shouldn't have to live like this. 🤍
