Neighbors, a quick termite heads-up!

We're still finding plenty of termite activity around the Valley this fall. Here's what to watch for (see photos):

-Mud tubes: thin, dirt-colored lines running up block walls, foundations, or garage stem walls
-Drop tubes: muddy "strings" hanging from ceilings, drywall, or vents (yes, really!)
-Pale, cream-colored insects in soil or damaged wood. These are termites, not ants.

Desert subterranean termites do their damage quietly, and most homeowners don't notice until there's real damage. A 2-minute walk around your garage and exterior walls can save you a lot of money.

Anyone else getting eaten alive this month?

We're hearing it all over the Valley right now , mosquitoes are still going strong even though monsoon season is over. A few warm weeks plus leftover standing water and they can go from egg to biting adult in about 7–10 days.

A few quick things that actually help:
- Walk your yard and dump any standing water — planter saucers, buckets, birdbaths, tarps
- Check the spots people miss: drip irrigation emitters, evap cooler drain pans, gutters, and low spots in decorative rock
- Your pool isn't the problem if it's circulating. Check the puddles around the pool equipment and patio drains instead
- Put a fan on the patio. Mosquitoes are weak fliers and struggle in moving air

Skip the ultrasonic gadgets and dryer sheets. They don't do much
