🕷️ That first wolf spider sprinting across the bathroom tile at 11 p.m. in Mesa? It is almost never alone. By the time most homeowners spot one indoors, the harborage population in the block walls, valve boxes, and palm skirts outside is already established.

Once daytime highs hold above 105, the local spider population pushes indoors fast:
✅ Western black widows move out of pool equipment and irrigation valve boxes into garage corners
✅ Desert recluse populations build up in undisturbed garage storage and closet boxes
✅ Wolf spiders and Arizona desert tarantulas start showing up on tile floors and driveways at night

When the first monsoon storms flood outdoor harborage in July, the crickets, roaches, and moths spiders feed on push right up against your foundation — and the spiders follow them indoors.

Our new guide covers the five species you will actually see in a Mesa home, where they hide, the 6 prevention steps to get done before monsoon season hits, and when a DIY can of spray stops being enough.

🪳 That first roach skittering across the kitchen floor at 11 p.m. in Avondale? It is almost never alone. By the time most homeowners spot one, dozens more are already nesting behind the dishwasher, water heater, or wall void above the laundry.

Once daytime highs hold above 100, the local cockroach population moves indoors fast:
✅ American roaches climb out of storm drains and water meter boxes
✅ Turkestan roaches pour out of irrigation valve boxes and block wall voids
✅ German roaches hitchhike in on grocery bags, Amazon boxes, and used appliances

When the first monsoon storms flood the outdoor harborage in July, that whole population pushes through plumbing penetrations and slab cracks into your living space — right in time for peak asthma season.

Our new guide covers the three species you will actually see in an Avondale home, where they hide, the health risks (EPA and CDC both flag roach allergens as a top indoor asthma trigger), and the 5 prevention moves to get done before monsoon season hits.

🐝 That tight cluster pulsing in your citrus tree this May? It is almost certainly an Africanized honey bee swarm scouting your Peoria yard for a permanent home.

May and June are peak swarm season in the West Valley. Established colonies split, one productive hive can seed two or three new colonies across a single Peoria block in weeks, and every wild honey bee colony in the Phoenix area is treated as Africanized by default — the visual difference is too small to confirm without a lab test.

If you spot a swarm or active hive:
✅ Pull people and pets back 100 feet
✅ Do NOT spray, smoke, or seal the entry — it makes the colony worse
✅ Watch for hive cavities — water meter boxes, block wall voids, eaves, saguaros
✅ Call our team for live bee removal

Our new guide covers why swarm season peaks now, how to tell a resting swarm from a defensive hive, the cavities Africanized colonies prefer around Peoria homes, and why DIY removal in the desert goes wrong fast.

🪵 The mud tube on your block wall this May? It is already feeding the swarm that is going to fly out of your kitchen window in August.

In Glendale, AZ, desert subterranean termites (Heterotermes aureus) are the most destructive structural pest in the Valley — and pre-monsoon is the single best window of the year to catch them.

Watch for these warning signs right now:
✅ Pencil-thin mud tubes on foundations, garage walls, and slab joints
✅ Shed clear wings on window sills after a monsoon storm
✅ Hollow-sounding baseboards, door jambs, or window frames
✅ Sticking doors, sagging trim, or pinhole damage in framing

We put together a full guide on subterranean termite signs in Glendale — which species we deal with locally, how monsoon conditions trigger swarms, why we use an above-ground mud tube bait station instead of in-ground stations, and when to call our team.

🦂 The scorpions you'll find in your laundry room in July? They're waking up in your block walls right now.

In Scottsdale, AZ, Sonoran Desert scorpions come out of winter brumation in March and April as overnight lows hold above the mid-50s. They start hunting prey insects more actively, range farther from harborage, and follow the food right toward your home — long before peak summer heat pushes them indoors.

Spring is the most effective window to interrupt the season:
✅ Seal credit-card-sized gaps under doors and around plumbing
✅ Pull wood piles and rock collections 20+ feet from the foundation
✅ Switch exterior bulbs to amber or yellow to cut prey insects
✅ Schedule a UV inspection — scorpions glow blue-green under blacklight

We put together a full guide on spring scorpion activity in Scottsdale — which species we see, where they hide on local properties, and when to call our team.
