ATP (Adenoside Triphosphate) testing is the same process that hospitals, labs, and restaurants use to maintain standards of cleanliness by detecting the presence of harmful bacteria and pathogens on surfaces.

BioteamAZ conducts ATP testing before, during, and after every biohazard cleanup to locate biohazard contamination, monitor progress, and to verify our work. Many biohazard cleanup sites in Arizona start with very high levels of ATP, especially if there was an unattended death.

In June 2026, BioteamAZ owners Krystie Reeves and Matt McFarlane completed the Microbial Warrior® Program, earning certification as High Risk / High Level Decontamination Specialists™, Certified Forensic Operators®, and Certified Bio-Forensic Restoration Specialists®.

Microbial Warrior is a Tactical System of Forensic Restoration based on the sciences of biorisk management, infection control, and applied scientific decontamination and abatement for comprehensive remediation of contaminated structures and areas.

Forensic Restoration covers, but is not limited to:

• Crime and trauma scenes
• Illicit drug contamination (fentanyl/m**h) and manufacturing operations
• Bio-Terrorism related contamination
• Infectious diseases including Ebola
• Mass casualty incidents
• Tear gas, CS gas, and other chemical irritants

The week long intensive hands-on training and testing program is developed by Jeff Jones - Specialist in Counterterrorism, former US Army Soldier, Former SWAT team leader, and the youngest person to attend the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Jeff is recognized as the world’s leading expert in Forensic Restoration and Decontamination and has 50 years of field experience in Forensic Restoration®.

Co-Founders of Bio-Sheen LLC, Microbial Warrior Master Trainers Jeff and Lori Jones go beyond tools and training into a tactical mindset for the biologically hostile environment encountered during Forensic Restoration and decontamination.

Participants complete written cognitive tests, hands-on performance assessments, and a behavioral assessment developed with input from Jennifer DeBruyn, Ph.D.

Restoration industry leaders met earlier this month in Washington, D.C. for the IICRC Legislative Fly-In, connecting, collaborating, and advocating for the issues that matter most to our industry and the people we serve.

BioteamAZ owner Krystie Reeves had the honor of meeting directly with Arizona and California Congressional offices, sharing her first-hand knowledge of the complexities and challenges encountered during biohazard restoration. These conversations help close the knowledge gap for federal policymakers who often make decisions on disaster response, workforce development, insurance, environmental health, and small business regulation without fully understanding how restoration and inspection professionals operate on the ground.

By advocating for the industry's workforce and the value of IICRC certifications and standards, events like the Fly-In reinforce the importance of science-based, consensus-driven practices that protect consumers and communities.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. At BioteamAZ, we believe that talking openly about mental health, without stigma, saves lives. One of the ways we do this is by shifting the way we talk about it, so we are moving towards the term “self-cessation”.
