So, a neighbor of mine says that he is an alcoholic. He says that there is no need for him to get clean because he is 69 and already close to death. What do you think about this thought process? What would you say to a person that thinks that way? What if it was a family member, would you try to convince them that a sober life is better, or would you just accept what they have said and let it be?

People that have family members that struggle with drug usage wish for their family members to get clean and change their lives…… but…it’s not that easy….. when the family members get clean and change their lives…. They become a different person…..a person that is trying to become a productive member of society with trauma issues……most people can’t handle people with trauma and emotional issues……most people don’t have patience. We as a people lack empathy for each other’s trauma. It’s sad, but true….

I have had my share of being judgmental towards another Muslim’s struggle in reference to their eemaan….. I have learned my lesson…. The same struggle that we look down and judge another Muslim on today…….could be our very struggle tomorrow ……

I don’t know who needs to hear this but…..we are supposed to advise each other with proof in a kind way …. Or just make dua…… NONE of us have the right to tell another muslim how or to show up at the Masjid….. NONE of us have the right to turn someone away from Allah’s trying to worship Allah…….regardless if she is wearing a wig, weave, or eyelashes….. that’s not how we do things…. We help and advise people like that….. we don’t turn them away or turn our nose up at them…… none of us have that power or right to determine if someone should be able worship Allah or not……..
