A forgotten porch pumpkin left out past its prime can leave a stain on concrete or wood that's a lot harder to remove than the pumpkin itself.

Mid-October in Delco means stink bugs and lady beetles start looking for a warm way inside, and they tend to collect on window sills and in window tracks. The cleanup tip most people miss: don't squish them.

Stink bugs release a smell when crushed, and lady beetles can leave a stain on light surfaces. Vacuum them up, empty the vacuum outside right away, then wipe down the sill and track so nothing is left behind.
