๐ฆ TUESDAY TIP | POST-STORM POOL CLEANUP ๐
Storm debris in your pool? Here are 3 important tips to protect your pool and get that water sparkling again! โจ
1๏ธโฃ NEVER DRAIN YOUR POOL TO CLEAN IT! ๐ซ
This applies to ALL types of swimming pools! High groundwater levels can create hydrostatic pressure beneath the pool shell, potentially causing a pool to lift or โpopโ out of the ground. Vinyl liners can also float.
โ ๏ธ Pool draining should only be handled by a licensed pool professional.
2๏ธโฃ REMOVE DEBRIS BEFORE STARTING YOUR SYSTEM! ๐
Use a leaf net to remove as many leaves, limbs, and other debris as possible BEFORE running your equipment or adding chemicals.
Fresh green leaves and limbs can turn your water green and disrupt its chemical balance much faster than dried, fallen leaves. Removing debris first makes restoring clear water much easier!
3๏ธโฃ BALANCE, SANITIZE & CLEAR! ๐ง
Once debris is removed, test and balance your pH, then raise your chlorine to the appropriate level.
โ
Know your poolโs gallon capacity! Using the correct amount of chemicals for your poolโs water volume is essential for safe, effective treatment. More chemicals donโt necessarily mean better results!
If your water remains cloudy, a pool-compatible flocculant may help suspended particles settle to the bottom, where they can be vacuumed to waste โ NOT through your filter.
Always follow chemical labels and your pool manufacturerโs guidelines. Make sure your equipment supports vacuuming to waste before using flocculant.
โจ Protect your pool. Protect your investment.
