Did you know your washing machine needs a clean up too? Mold, mildew and whatever other stuff in there needs to be cleaned so it can work hard on cleaning your clothes..
Sometimes we notice that funky smell even after your clothes had been on longest cycle, with the most expensive detergent or even the whites are not as white as it once was... Blame on the appliance cleanliness, but most of the time it's fixable.
Monthly cleaning cycles are recommended on any manufacturers owner's manual. Some newer models can even notify you when it's time to clean it.
On the internet you can find loads (pun intended) of videos on how to do it. And washing machine cleaner products are sold everywhere nowadays. Some I like most are Affresh, Tide and Oxiclean. They work well, but if it's too late, you can try a combination of bleach and the washer cleaner. Or let the bleach sit on soaked paper towel on the spot overnight. Vinegar and Baking soda don't work on this stage. Always check your owner's manual for recommended settings and products.
