‼️ PSA 🚨 Please Read & Stay Safe
First off it was honestly amazing taking care of a lifelong friend. Josh and I have known each other since we were toddlers in daycare together. It was so good catching up while making sure his home was properly taken care of. That part of this job never gets old.
That said, I want to share something important that happened in the days prior!
Josh had called a company he found on Google to get an estimate for duct cleaning (he forgot that I do duct cleaning). But that was it, just an estimate. The very next day a scammer showed up at his home claiming to be from that duct cleaning company, attempting to pressure their way into the house for a service that was never scheduled. No confirmation email, no proper equipment, no company truck, no negative air machine, no compressor, no vacuum hoses — just a small bag of tools and a story that didn’t add up. When he tried to call that company back, their phone number on Google had changed.
Thankfully, he trusted his gut and sent them away — but this could have gone very differently.
⚠️ PLEASE protect yourself and your family ⚠️
Before giving anyone your address or allowing them into your home:
✅ Check Google reviews (not just star rating — read them)
✅ Visit the company’s website
✅ Confirm they send appointment confirmations
✅ Ask what equipment they use (real duct cleaning requires large, professional machinery)
✅ Ask if they arrive in a marked company vehicle
✅ Never feel pressured — a legitimate company will never force themselves on you
If someone shows up unexpectedly or something feels off, trust your instincts and say no.
We take safety, professionalism, and transparency extremely seriously — and instances like this are exactly why. Please share this so others don’t end up in a dangerous situation.
