People often think cleaning houses is âjust cleaning.â
But to us, itâs so much more than that.
Itâs washing the dishes for the mom whoâs been up all night with a newborn. Itâs bringing the garbage tote back in because the pregnant mama forgot and shouldnât have to worry about it. Itâs folding the mountain of laundry that has been weighing on someoneâs mind for weeks. Itâs resetting a home after sickness, after long work hours, after life simply became overwhelming.
As cleaners, we notice the little things. We know when someone has had a rough week. We can tell when a family has been running on empty. We see the birthday decorations still hanging because there wasnât time to take them down, the school papers covering the counters, the toys scattered across the floor from children who are loved and well cared for.
We donât judge those homes.
We care for them.
Every home we leave behind is one less thing for a busy family to carry. Itâs a little less stress, a little more peace, and a chance for someone to walk through their front door, take a deep breath, and simply be present with the people they love.
So if youâve ever looked down on someone because theyâre âjust a cleaner,â I hope you realize that what we do reaches far beyond a mop and a vacuum. We give people back something they can never get more of: time, peace of mind, and a fresh start.
And to my fellow cleanersâbe proud of what you do. This job is physically demanding, mentally exhausting, and often goes unnoticed. But the impact we make is real. We donât just clean homes.
We take care of people.
And that is something to be incredibly proud of.
