Rats find pool heaters to be a great spot to nest, Keeping them protected from birds and snakes and other prey. They also drag in leaves and other yard debris to build a nest. Well this heater was packed with dry leaves and a hot power wire since the rat chewed it up. That caused the unit to catch fire 🔥 when the customer turned the power on. Luckily he seen the smoke drift into the pool cage and was able to cut the gas line off and stop the fire from spreading to his home. These are easy to seal up if you know what your doing and will prevent rodents from accessing them. We seal these up all the time but this is the first I’ve seen with such significant damage.

Baby squirrel fell from the palm tree in my front yard while I was doing yard work. I checked the baby for any visible wounds and she looked okay so I placed the baby at the base of the tree and waited for momma to come down and grab her (Which she did).

PS- if the tail is fluffed out or its at least 6 inches in body length its probably fine on it's own. No need to take it to a wildlife center unless its hurt.
