Hiring a service contractor can be as easy as making a few clicks on your cell phone.
Hiring a company to not rip you off⌠not so easy.
This floor was installed 3 years ago. Because of a proper pre-inspection and enough questions, we found out that the installer stopped showing up, and sent his brother to finish. Turns out the brother used a different color and a different type of grout to complete the job.
So it looks a little silly but its done, right?
Nope.
What happened was the brother also applied grout over the existing grout, to cover up the fact that he was using a different product. Which creates this layering effect. When he was done it looked great. But over the last 3 years the home owner couldnât figure out why the grout was changing.
What was happening was the layered grout was washing away from regular mopping, exposing the original grout and color.
We were able to fix this as much as possible without ripping out over 2000 sqft of grout. They were so happy they called the office, left multiple reviews, emailed me personally and sent text messages to express their gratitude.
This isnât to brag (maybe a little), it is more so to warn against hiring. Itâs not just about pricing either, as much as it is about interviewing companies to find out who is going to serve you best. So if a company asks you a lot of questions, itâs not to be nosy, itâs about getting a clear picture of the entire scope.
