At the consult, this homeowner bragged that her last cleaning lady (who had allegedly been there within the last month) was so good. My first visit at this house, I scrubbed the shower tile until I ran out of cleaning product. 😬

I guess clean is in the eye of the beholder, but please… This right here is why I need to stick by my policy of billing hourly for the first visit(s).

The higher trafficked areas of this home fell victim to a cycle of dirty spot ➡️ spot treat ➡️ repeat.

Why is spot treating a bad thing? Well… it’s not, but when you *only* spot treat, the stain may seem to fade away, but the cleaning product itself is left behind, and dirt LOVES to cling to that residue. Without a proper cleaning to remove everything that spot treating leaves behind, your carpet will look dirty so much faster!

How can I tell that this is what was happening? I ran countless gallons of plain water through my machine and I was STILL extracting foamy residue from what I can only assume is several years worth of spot treating solutions.

I was very glad that this homebuyer decided to add carpet cleaning to her move-in clean because although the surface didn’t look too terribly bad, there were a whole lot of hidden presents from the previous homeowners (and their kids and their pets)!

My third year doing this and my second time being named a neighborhood fave! 🥳 I started cleaning houses out of necessity to make ends meet when my retail management career came to a screeching halt at the height of the pandemic, not knowing where this would take me. I’m so proud to have made it this far doing work that satisfies me, fulfills a need for those around me, and allows me to have a good work-life balance for literally the first time in my life.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
First step is a consult. They’re always free, and I come to meet you, see the house in its natural state, discuss your needs and expectations, and we work together to decide on a rate for regular visits. You can expect to pay by the hour for the initial clean, as it always takes extra time and attention to get things caught up, then your maintenance visits will be charged by the job. Most of my clients pay between $100-$125, and most households opt for biweekly cleans.
