Welcome to the robot graveyard, where I’m robbing Peter to pay Paul. Peter’s donating a motor, Paul’s donating a cord, and somebody’s leaving without wheels.

The ones I bring back to life are officially called Franken-bots. A little of this, a little of that… IT’S ALIVE! ⚡🤖

🔧 Equipment pad makeover! 💪

This setup needed some attention, but the old Jandy salt system had a more urgent problem: it kept beeping right outside the bedroom window. Apparently, it thought it was an alarm clock. At all hours. 😅

The Pool Guy retired the noisy neighbor and installed a new Hayward salt system. While I was at it, I replaced the filter sand, lateral assembly and multiport valve, then redid the plumbing for a cleaner look.

Check the before and after.

Eddie says the best part of this makeover might be the silence. 🤫💦

What does The Pool Guy do when he takes a week off work?

Apparently, he destroys his own house to the point of a complete stress induced mental breakdown. 😂

Just kidding… mostly… am I though? 🤷‍♂️

The kitchen is coming along nicely, but the stress is REAL! I think I’ll go back to fixing pools, it’s more relaxing. 🤣

Upcoming project!
Complete equipment-pad makeover! 🔧💦

This setup is getting:

✅ New salt system
✅ New multiport valve
✅ New filter laterals and sand
✅ Replacement of the old, deteriorated electrical whips
✅ Rework plumbing for a cleaner, more professional appearance

It may look a little rough now, but just wait until you see the transformation! Stay tuned for the before-and-after pictures.

Here we go again… perfectly beautiful, crystal-clear water going down the drain. 💧😩

Why? The CYA is testing off the chart, estimated @ 150/200.

CYA should normally be around 30–50 ppm in a traditional chlorine pool. Chlorine tablets are convenient, but they continuously add stabilizer to the water. One standard 3-inch tablet can add approximately 3 ppm of CYA to a 10,000-gallon pool. Use four tablets every week, and that can add around 12 ppm—week after week!

Eventually, the CYA gets so high that the chlorine can no longer sanitize the water effectively. And unfortunately, the only practical way to lower it is to drain and replace water.

This is also a good reminder: clear water doesn’t always mean safe water. If the sanitation and chemistry aren’t right, a beautiful-looking pool can still be unsafe to swim in.

Just filled up the pool truck—$142 for one tank. 😳⛽

So, if you’re wondering why there’s a service-call fee, it’s because the truck apparently requires a small personal loan before it will leave the driveway. 😂

Sometimes pool care means looking beyond what you can see!

💦 Clear water doesn’t always mean balanced water! 💦

Doing some much needed maintenance today, draining perfectly clean water because the CYA was way too high. We also removed the metal staining from the steps and pulled out a filter that has definitely reached the end of its life!

Maintenance done right by The Pool Guy! 🏊‍♂️
