Within the last two weeks, I’ve had two different people tell me I’m undercharging and that my work is worth more. Honestly, hearing that means so much.
I feel like in the cleaning industry, some people truly don’t appreciate the amount of work, time, effort, and wear on our bodies that goes into this job. So when someone recognizes that and tells me I’m worth more, it means a lot.
The problem isn’t that clients won’t pay fair prices. The problem is that every time someone says yes to cleaning an entire house for $80 etc , it reinforces the idea that cleaning is a low value service. Then when a cleaner charges a fair rate, people compare them to the cheapest price they’ve seen.
I don’t think most cleaners are trying to hurt the industry. Most are just trying to stay busy, pay bills, or get started. But the impact is still the same.
To the clients who appreciate us and recognize the value of our work, thank you. We notice it more than you know. ❤️
