There’s one thing that really grinds my gears- that’s seeing someone taken advantage of.
This client reached out to me a couple of weeks ago, during our walkthrough I could hear the frustration in her voice. She had been paying someone to professionally clean her home, yet she didn’t feel like her home was actually being cleaned.
I don’t know the full history. I don’t know how long the previous cleaner had been there, what their agreement was, or what she was paying- I’m not going to pretend I do. What I do know is that the home had supposedly been cleaned just last month. When I started really dissecting it today, I found areas that made her frustration make a whole lot more sense.
When someone hires me to come into their home, I don’t take that lightly. Your home is what you work for. It’s where you make memories, where you should be able to relax after a long day, where you deserve to feel comfortable.
People hire cleaners for all kinds of reasons. They’re busy. They may not know how to tackle certain things. They may physically be unable to do it themselves. Whatever the reason, they’re trusting someone with their home & their money.
Today was exhausting- mentally, physically & emotionally. But, tonight I received a text from this client thanking me because she was finally able to walk through the door after a long day at work & feel like her home was actually clean.
THAT is why I love what I do.
I’m not here to grab a payment & walk back out the door, I’m here to provide the service someone trusted & paid me to provide.
These are BEFORE photos from today.
If you had been paying someone to clean your home & found these things, would you be frustrated too?
