Between TikTok and You Tube, novel chemists broadcast DANGEROUS "hacks" that have the potential to cause damage, create injury, and become fatal. For instance: powdered dish detergent AND Oxiclean and Borax COMBINED with bleach while SUGGESTING water be boiled and added to the machine. Please do not do these things!!!
Reality: You now have a highly dangerous mix that results in vaporization and HEAT, plus the suggestion of adding more heat to the system. Peroxide and water react creating heat and oxygen gases. But, Bleach and Peroxide creates oxygen and heat so violently that it is an explosion hazard. And, Oxiclean White Revive is exponentially stronger than basic Hydrogen Peroxide. Mixing the dish detergent (Salicic ACID) and Bleach Results in rapid Chlorine gas emission. When chlorine gas hits a person’s lungs, it generates a noxious mixture of hydrochloric acid, hypochlorous acid, hypochlorite, and other corrosive compounds. This pretty much dissolves tissues. The cause of death tends to be chemical pneumonia. A victim’s lungs cease being able to move gases and fill with liquid. I am glad that she has not sustained injury, but the threat is very real.
