The first month of care for your the new pool finish dictates its lifespan. It’s vital to prevent mottling, scaling, and even delamination.

Per the National Plasterers Council, “Normally this is the responsibility of the remodeling company or builder, who will need to follow guidelines to maintain the warranty on the pool finish, but pool owners should also understand the process they are paying for.”

A startup procedure is the 28-day process of caring for a new pool finish after it’s filled with water. The process includes:
-- testing water daily
-- carefully maintaining chemical balance
-- brushing the pool surface twice a day
-- avoid using automated cleaning equipment
