Choosing a septic installer isn’t just about getting a system in the ground—it’s about getting it right for the long term.

Every property is different. Soil conditions, water tables, layout, and daily usage all play a role in how a system should be designed and installed. What works in one location may not work in another just down the road.

A few things worth paying attention to:
• 📍 A thorough evaluation of the site and soil
• 🧩 A system designed specifically for your property
• 📋 Knowledge of local regulations and permitting
• 🔧 Ongoing service and support beyond installation

A properly designed and maintained system should work quietly in the background for years.

That’s always been our approach.

❄️ With freezing temperatures expected, a little mindfulness goes a long way.

Most systems do just fine in cold weather with a few simple precautions. No need to worry — just a good time to be aware.

One-week check-in 👀
How’s everyone doing on those New Year’s resolutions so far?

If your home is on a septic system, here are a few easy, realistic septic-friendly resolutions you can keep all year long 👇

🗑️ Mind what goes down the drain
No grease, wipes (even “flushable”), feminine products, or food scraps. Your system will thank you.

🚿 Spread out water use
Avoid running multiple high-water activities at once (laundry, long showers, dishwasher). Septic systems like steady—not sudden—flow.

🚽 Fix leaks promptly
A running toilet can quietly overload a system faster than you think. Small fixes = big protection.

🌱 Protect the drainfield
No driving, parking, or placing heavy items over it. Keep roots and compaction away.

🧪 Aerobic system owners:
Check your air pump and chlorine supply regularly. These systems rely on oxygen and disinfection to do their job properly.

Simple habits. Real impact.
If septic care is on your 2026 “keep it together” list, you’re already ahead of the game. 💪

Friendly holiday reminder 🎄
Grease doesn’t belong down the drain — especially if you’re on a septic system. 🚫🚿
Fats and oils can overwhelm your tank and cause costly issues. Let it cool 🫙 and toss it in the trash 🗑️.

Cooking for the holidays? Remember what goes down your sink drain doesn't just disappear. Disposing of leftovers and other ingredients the right way helps prevents clogs and protects your plumbing.

Conservation is key 🔑

RURAL NUECES COUNTY , IT’S TIME TO STAND UP FOR OUR WATER!

We’re proud to say the Nueces Groundwater Conservation District is leading the fight to protect landowners’ groundwater rights right here in the Great State of Texas!

Ours is the first landowner petition filed since Lake Country GCD back in 2002 — and while theirs was the first under the current law (Texas Water Code, Section 36.013), the Nueces GCD petition is the first ever filed under the new rules written to support that law (Title 30, Texas Administrative Code, Section 293.18).

Lake Country GCD didn’t make it past the ballot box… and we cannot afford to fail this time!

We have the weight of the entire State to carry on our shoulders! The
Eyes of Texas are Upon us!

Since we filed, we’ve learned 10 more landowner petitions have been submitted across the state — a clear sign that Texans are waking up. This isn’t just about one district — this is about all of us!

Big cities and corporations are trying to turn our groundwater into a commodity — an open market where the highest bidder wins, and rural Texans lose. We depend on this water every single day — for our families, our farms, and our future.

It’s time to draw the line. This is our water. This is our land. This is our fight.

Stand with Nueces GCD. Stand for Texas. Stand for your rights.

Pray for rain! Pray for guidance and wisdom moving forward!
