Dear Omaha Drain,

You have once again promised, failed to deliver, and failed to communicate.

As of late yesterday afternoon, you informed us all holes would be filled and concrete would be poured last night and your folks would be at our place between 7-8am this morning to hook up our fixtures and get us a working sink and bathroom.

What you said would happen last night did NOT happen, and the guy who apparently is supposed to hookup our fixtures is the only one from your company that reached out, and his message was that his mother and daughter are in the hospital (I'm sincerely sorry to hear this and of course they are both ok).

This being said, because you, as a company, continue to not communicate with us about what is going on, I have to guess as to the role of the person who texted me and told me they wont be there.

Because of the assurances Jeremy made me last night, I already informed our staff that we would have working bathrooms/water today.

I have left 3 or 4 messages with your office since this morning asking for an update as to what is going to be completed and when yet still no one calls.

This is at least the 3rd completely unnecessary time in the last 2 weeks I have had to scream to get any response.

Be better. Call me and tell me what is going on.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to get reopened. For those interested, here is where things are in regards to getting the bathrooms back opened.

The new sewer pipe is complete but the ground is fully open inside the building and outside until it can get inspected by the City, hopefully Monday. Once inspection is complete the 6' high troughs will be packed and filled with dirt and at that point they can do the bathroom plumbing (they cant do it prior to filling in the dirt because they cant suspend the lines??? No idea. I'm not a plumber)

Once that is complete (hoping Tues/Wed), hopefully that can be inspected by before next weekend.

Fingers crossed. We are so sorry for the inconvenience...to our customers but also this is really tough on our fantastic crew. Thanks everyone.

We are closed today, Wednesday, September 24th until late this afternoon, early evening. When we reopen, bathrooms will still be inoperable.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

(For those not following along, the pipes below our building to the sewer collapsed and they are being replaced. They put in a temporary fix get us back open, and are putting in the permanent drain today. They have a back ordered part that will keep them from completing the bathrooms until next week)

WE ARE OPEN! (But no bathrooms until next week).

We will be open all weekend but will need to close for 1 more day (likely Monday or Tuesday) to allow the plumbers to complete their work and replumb the bathrooms and install a permanent drain to the sewer.

One of the dangers of being in an old neighborhood with old pipes is decay. They finally found the cause of our drain issues…the pipes under our building have disintegrated.

We anticipated replacing a small chunk of pipe and reopening quickly.

The latest diagnosis is that we will need to replace all of the pipe between our unit and the sewer.

They will tear up much of the back of our store, and likely outside as well.

The only good news I can see is that, from these repairs, these pipes should be ready for the next 100 years.

To our amazing customers: we are so so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

We hope you will come back when we are able to reopen. You have become a part of our family.

This little community of North Omaha and Florence have made our lives better. And we couldn’t be more grateful.

We hope to see you real soon.
