Wisconsin winters aren’t always deep-snow winters — and when we get long cold stretches with little ground cover, septic systems are more likely to freeze.

A few simple ways to protect your system when the ground is bare:

• Snow is great insulation — if we don’t have it, add straw, hay, or mulch over the tank and drain field
• Use water regularly (laundry, showers, dishes spread out) to keep lines moving
• Fix leaks and slow drips — they can freeze fast in subzero temps
• Make sure access lids are sealed and insulated

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
There have been customer reports of mailer scams on rise when your septic system is due for 3 year service.

Doing a SEPTIC INSPECTION ONLY without pumping is nothing new and is a widely known and sometimes preferred option for your system if it is of low usage or the sludge level is low. We have many customers fall into this category. It always has been a choice.

There have been confusing letters being sent to customers and it’s hard to decifer the legit from scams. You don’t have to hire US to service or inspct your tank, but we do recommend working with a truly LOCAL and licensed company to ensure best care now and for future needs and issues.

Why?
Simply put -
Any reputable local septic company can perform the same inspection service at similar rates, but also have the means to service and pump your tank if needed AND come to your rescue in the event of failures and costly and messy backups.
If the sludge level is high or other problems are noted - they can be quickly amended avoiding pricey fixes and replacements later. With regular 3 year maintenance, in our last 30 years we have seen volume of backups in the house and premature system failures decreasing incredibly.

Very little ruins a good day more then sewage floating through your house 🤦‍♂️

There is some confusion out there about pumping needs. If you don't want it pumped, we do inspections and filter cleaning without pumping WHEN APPROPRIATE for low use systems (hunting cabins, cottages, some single households). If it does need the pumping and more detailed service, we have you covered right away at time of appointment. We'll help meet your needs the best we can.

Our high volume of people calling this last winter with winter backups following recent inappropriate "inspections only" from outside services solidifies the easy and affordable maintenance of pumping when you weigh it against the stress of home damage, drain field stress, and the mess and disruption of backups.

Please note that we are STILL having issues with our telephone service. 😞 You may reach constant ringing without voicemail pickup. We are hoping for the phone company to have it fixed up soon.

Please note that we are having Solaris phone issues today.
Today is the first day of the season we are forwarding calls for all day answering and we seem to have that working now, but the voicemail is not working if she is on the line. Hope to have it fixed soon.
