Think your crawlspace is rodent-free? 🐭 Take a look at what our trail cameras have caught under homes we’ve serviced! 📸

Sometimes the only clue we find during an inspection is a set of tiny footprints in the dust on the v***r barrier or a patch of freshly dug soil around a plumbing line. A trail camera lets us see who’s been leaving those tracks after we’re gone. 🐾

At Salty Dog Pest Control, we inspect the crawlspace and the outside of your home to look for signs of activity and figure out where rodents may be getting in. We can seal gaps around pipes, repair damaged crawlspace vents, and set traps where we find activity. On return visits, we check those traps and look for fresh tracks so we can tell you what’s changed.

Wondering what’s going on under your home? Give us a call or send us a message for a free estimate. We’ll walk you through what we find and what we recommend for your home.

Guemes Island neighbors, did you know Salty Dog Pest Control makes the trip to your island, too? 🚢🐾

Maybe you’ve swept the same spiderweb off your porch three mornings in a row, or you’ve started hearing scratching under the house. If that sounds familiar, give us a call or send us a message here on Facebook. Tell us what you’re seeing or hearing, and we’ll be happy to set up a free estimate.

We’re a service member and family-owned business based in Oak Harbor. From ants and spiders to rodents in the crawlspace, we offer ongoing pest control to help you take care of your home year-round.

See you on the island! ⚓

🏠🐭 Even new construction homes can have rodent visitors!

During a recent crawlspace inspection, we found subtle footprints and claw marks in the dust and dirt on the v***r barrier. We also discovered digging around a main plumbing pe*******on that provided an access point, along with two other holes that needed closer attention.

This is where an inspection can get tricky. In a home this new, rodents haven’t had time to leave the grease or rub marks that can develop along frequently traveled routes. Our only clues were the digging and the disturbed dust and dirt on the v***r barrier. Small details can tell a big story!

We sealed the gaps and installed snap traps in the crawlspace. We’re now maintaining and monitoring the space to check for any remaining rodent activity.

New construction doesn’t always mean pest-proof—and catching these signs early helps keep a small issue from becoming a bigger problem.

💧 Tiny jumping bugs? It may be time to check for moisture.

Springtails thrive in damp conditions and can become especially noticeable during our wet fall and winter months.

Finding them repeatedly indoors is a reason to look for conditions that support them, such as plumbing leaks, excess humidity or drainage problems around the home.

Addressing moisture is an important part of managing springtails—not just treating the bugs you can see.

Not sure what you’re finding? Send the Salty Dog team a message! We can help identify the pest and recommend the next steps.

🍂 Your home might look like a great winter hideout—to a stink bug!

Brown marmorated stink bugs can gather on exterior walls during warm fall days before slipping into protected spaces to overwinter.

Help keep these unwanted visitors outside:
🔹 Repair damaged window screens.
🔹 Check weatherstripping around doors.
🔹 Seal gaps around windows and utility entry points.

Finding them around your windows or inside the house? Send the Salty Dog team a message. We can help identify them and inspect for openings they may be using.
