🇺🇸 Where were you on September 11, 2001?

I was 15 years old, staying at my friend Tracy’s house. She woke me up and told me a plane had hit the Twin Towers. I ran into the living room, and as I watched the television, the second plane hit.

I remember the panic. The crying. The fear of realizing our country was under attack and not knowing what would happen next.

Living in Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, I remember the days that followed—the planes not flying, I remember the open field where U-Haul is now, where Navy personnel would park and be transported onto the base.

What I remember most is the silence.
The fear.
The uncertainty.
The feeling that something could happen at any moment.

I remember calling my dad, who was in the Navy, crying and asking, “Are you going to war? What’s going to happen?”

And for our family, the impact didn’t end there.
My own brother served over there for our country. He is a hero, and I will forever be proud of him. But his service and everything that came with it had a lasting impact on our entire family. The worry, the waiting, the fear, and the sacrifices made by our military families are things that stay with you.

I’ve also lost a childhood friend, Kenny Van Slyke Fisher, who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was so young.

9/11 didn't end on 9/11/2001 it has had a lasting impact on our nation, our lives, our families, our friends and us as a whole.

Twenty-five years later, these memories are still incredibly emotional.

We all have a story. A place we were. A person we were with. Something we saw or felt that we will never forget.

🇺🇸❤️ TODAY — WE REMEMBER. WE HONOR. WE STAND TOGETHER. ❤️🇺🇸

Today, Practically Magic Cleaning Services is proud to share and support the City of Oak Harbor as our community comes together in remembrance of September 11, 2001.

25 years later, we pause to honor the 2,977 lives lost, the families who continue to carry their memories, and the brave first responders and heroes who answered the call that day.

This morning, local firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and fellow first responders will carry the 9/11 Remembrance Flag across Whidbey Island in a powerful tribute of unity, courage, and remembrance.

We are proud to stand alongside our Whidbey Island community in saying:

We Will Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Thank you to our local first responders and to everyone participating in today's remembrance.

🪄✨ A Night of Practical Magic ✨🪄

A huge shout-out and THANK YOU to Praktical Magik, Jenny Lewis, and Oak Harbor Cinemas for inviting me to such an absolutely amazing night! 💜✨

Getting to attend a private showing of Practical Magic 2, A movie I feel like I’ve been waiting a lifetime for, was truly something special. 🥹🔮🌙

Thank you to everyone I had the opportunity to enjoy the movie with and reconnect with last night.

It was such a fun, magical evening surrounded by some wonderful people! ✨

The movie? It did NOT disappoint! 🪄❤️
Praktical Magik did an absolutely AMAZING job! From the atmosphere to the experience, it was a night I won’t soon forget.

Some nights are just a little more magical than others… and this was definitely one of them. 🌙🧹✨
