Pasquerilla East Musical Company

Pasquerilla East Musical Company 2020 - 2021 Season:

Gettin' Out of Town: A PEMCo Revue
October 22nd-24th, 2020 South DeBart Quad
Directed by Daniel Shaw

Something Rotten!

April 8-10th, 2021 Wash Hall Mainstage
Directed by Elizabeth Maroshick For more than ten years, Notre Dame had not had a musical on its campus. Then, in 1997, Kelly McGann, a resident of PE decided that this needed to change. From this, the Pasquerilla East Musical Company, or PEMCo, was born. Since its inception, PEMCo has been the largest student-run musical theater company on campus. Students d

irect the shows, act in the shows, build the sets, perform in the pit orchestra, design the costumes....they do everything! Each year, PEMCo puts on three productions: the Fall Show, the Mainstage, and the spring musical revue. The Mainstage began in 1997, when Kelly McGann organized the first PEMCo production: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The PEMCo Revue was started in 2002 and showcases the talent of all the members of the company, which cannot be done in a musical. Most recently, the Fall Show began in 2008 and has become a staple of the PEMCo season.

Want to audition for Little Shop of Horrors? Let us tell you how!
Auditions will be held this Sunday, September 7th from 2-6 PM, and Monday, September 8th from 7-9 PM. A mandatory dance call will be held Monday, September 8th from 9:30-11 PM and is required to be considered for casting in Little Shop of Horrors. Please email [email protected] if you absolutely cannot attend.

Please sign up for one 7-minute slot on either Sunday, September 7th, from 2-6 PM or Monday, September 8th, from 7-9 PM. All vocal auditions will be held in O’Neill Hall of Music Room 308.

Sign ups are linked in our bio.

Fill out BOTH PAGES of the audition form attached at the end of the packet linked in our bio and please bring it to your audition.

Callbacks will be Wednesday, September 10th, from 7-11 PM in O’Neill Hall of Music Room 308.  After auditions, if you do not receive a callback notice by 12pm on Tuesday, September 9th, you have not been called back. That does not mean you have not been casted, but rather, we did not need to see anything additional.

WHAT TO PREPARE:
Based on your vocal part, you will sing a selection of the mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor, or baritone selection. Alto and baritone songs are for lower voices and soprano and tenor songs are for higher voices, but if you believe another cut best shows your talent, take it up or down the octave!

The cuts for the following songs can be found in the link in our bio:
Mezzo-Soprano (higher female): Skid Row
Alto (lower female): Somewhere That’s Green
Tenor (higher male): Mushnik and Son
Baritone (lower male): Grow for Me
Bass: Git It

Please also choose a cut of the script to perform from the audition packet. Choose one of the characters listed to read lines for, and we will read the other lines. Please note that we may ask you to perform sides other than the one you chose, so it is best to familiarize yourself with all of the material.

Please come prepared to dance, as you will be taught choreography during the dance call time slot (Monday, September 8th, from 9:30-11 PM).

More audition information along with Audition Cuts and Sign Ups Slots can be found in the link in our bio.

Meet PEMCo’s 2025-2026 Directors!
Here are some messages from our wonderful directors!

Carolyn Dell:

Hi y’all!!!! I’m Carolyn Dell, I’m from San Antonio, TX. I’m majoring in FTT and minoring in Musical Theatre (somehow)! I’m stoked to be the fall director for this year. I lived in Welsh Fam for 3 years, but now I’m in UCF. I cannot wait to begin my journey with PEMCo, and I’m honored to be able to share what’s going to be some fun and inspiring theatre with the Notre Dame community!

Viktoriia Khomenko:

Hi! I’m Viktoriia, and I’m very excited and only mildly terrified to be directing PEMCo’s spring show. I’m originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, but for the past three years I’ve been living in Granger, Indiana.
I’m a Biochemistry major, which is almost like musical theater, but with fewer songs and more frustration involving micropipetting, and I live in Lyons Hall.
PEMCo has been one of the most unexpectedly important parts of my time here. It’s given me some of my happiest memories, introduced me to people I now can’t imagine life without, and created space for me to grow, not just as a performer, but as a person who’s a little less scared to try things.
To anyone new: I promise PEMCo is one of the kindest and most welcoming communities out there, and we’re so excited to finally meet you. I really can’t wait to create and tell our story together.
P.S. Physical warmups will be happening. You will survive. Maybe even thrive.
