BMW F87 M2 | KW Variant 3 Coilovers

There’s a lot more to a suspension upgrade than simply lowering the car.

We installed a KW Variant 3 coilover system on this BMW F87 M2 to improve the car’s stance while giving us much greater control over how the suspension behaves.

What makes the KW V3 different?

Independent rebound adjustment
Rebound controls how quickly the suspension extends after being compressed. Adjusting it allows you to fine-tune body movement, steering response and overall stability.

Independent compression adjustment
Compression controls how the suspension reacts when the wheel moves upward. Fine-tuning compression can improve support during braking, acceleration and cornering while maintaining compliance over imperfect roads.

Adjustable ride height
Ride height can be set within KW’s specified adjustment range, allowing the stance and center of gravity to be optimized without simply installing an aggressive lowering spring.

Better body control
Reducing excessive pitch, dive and body roll helps the M2 feel more composed during quick transitions, hard braking and spirited driving.

Street + performance versatility
One of the biggest advantages of the V3 is its adjustability. The suspension can be set up with street comfort in mind or dialed toward a firmer, more performance-focused feel.

Vehicle-specific engineering
Rather than being a universal suspension solution, the V3 is engineered around the individual vehicle application, with spring and damper characteristics developed specifically for the platform.

The end result on this F87 M2 is exactly what we were looking for: a lower, more purposeful stance with improved chassis control and the ability to fine-tune the suspension to the driver.

And paired with the BBS FI-R and Michelin Pilot Sport tires, the fitment looks right at home on the M2.

We installed the Active Autowerke G80/G82 M3/M4 Signature RACE ONLY Exhaust System - GOLIATH - per Active - This brings our expertise with a single mid-pipe and leverages our many years of performance tuning for BMW M-cars. It provides a deeper tone to the stock exhaust and is not intended for street use since it gives a loud sound as the exhaust is fully open at all times (does not use OEM valves). We have also added the option of an exhaust DUMP right after the downpipes to maximize the sound.
While these cars have received rave reviews for their performance, the sound is a muffled one leaving the driver to wonder if they are really driving a BMW M-car. In order to solve this, Active Autowerke has created a full race only exhaust system for the G80/G82 which provides the raucous sound which some BMW enthusiasts crave and cannot be provided by a street legal exhaust system. This race only remake of the stock exhaust results in a G80/G82 with a loud, deep and aggressive sound. You will feel the thrill of driving a race car when the throttle is opened.
This exhaust system upgrade was designed and engineered to replace the entire exhaust system with only no cuts needed in the stock exhaust. It is a bolt-on that can be performed by most and the stock exhaust can be reinstated if needed.
This system provides the maximum flow available and provides a race car growl expected but not often realized from a BMW M-Series car. The resonators reduce some of the rasp from the S58 engine without compromising the wide-open sound.
The Active Autowerke race only exhaust system is constructed of 100% 304 brushed stainless steel and has a industry standard warranty against rust. This latest addition to the Signature line up is a must for the true Enthusiast looking for a better sounding car to match amazing performance.
