WHAT DOES THE JOB LOOK LIKE?

In this role, you’ll learn to inspect fireplaces, sweep and maintain chimneys, and handle repairs and installations, all while being supported by a dedicated team. As an Entry-Level Chimney Sweeper - Chimney Apprentice, you’ll work with ladders, navigate rooftops, and take on new challenges that make each day interesting and fulfilling. Your problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude will be key as you help maintain the high standards that define our company’s reputation.

DO YOU HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

U.S. citizenship or legal work status.
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Physical capability to meet the demands of the position
Comfort working in small spaces and at heights
A background in construction or roofing is a plus!

Pay: $23.00 per hour for entry level, possibly more depending on experience level.

Improperly installed chimney liner removal and installation of a properly installed 316 titanium alloy, hybrid, smooth wall chimney liner system with full ceramic blanket insulation wrap to serve a single oil fired boiler.

Received a call from a customer who had had a very bad experience with another installer and asked us to inspect the installation. Multiple issues were found. No tee cap on the base tee assembly, top plate was not sealed, no insulation, the stack pipe coming from the furnace had no screws connecting it to the liner base assembly, no permit was pulled for the work.
The worst thing we found was the fact that they connected two pieces of liner with section of galvanized pipe and a few screws. Every liner manufacturer out there makes a listed connector, not using one is completely irresponsible. The gases coming out of your oil furnace or boiler are highly acidic. This connector was holding the weight of the entire liner and would have rusted out completely in a year or two and when it did, it would’ve dropped the entire system, causing a possible blockage, but certainly would disrupt  the flow of the combusted gasses causing a potentially dangerous circumstance. It is important to do your due diligence when hiring any contractor, this could’ve turned into a dangerous situation.

Another beautiful double rebuild both with full copper step and counter flashing, code compliant concrete chimney crowns, complete with expansion joints, bond break, and drip edge. Finished with black powder coated stainless steel chimney caps from Olympia Chimneys Supply. We will return in a few months and apply a saturation application of breathable waterproofer to essentially render these chimneys bulletproof.

Rain or shine! Seems like it’s been mostly rain this year. We always work in the rain. If we didn’t, we would be a year behind schedule! Of course this takes a good amount of set up because comfort is key.

Stone Rebuild with stainless steel liner.
Most of our rebuilds include stainless steel liner systems for the heating flue as well as fire guard refractory flue resurfacing for the fireplace liners when applicable.
