This weekend, a sweet family we serve traveled out of town to celebrate a graduation.
While they were making memories, we spent time with their two boxers — Duke, the friendly, fawn gentleman, and his foster brother Flakko — a sweet-spirited love bug despite that he’s been stuck healing from a surgery that repaired his broken leg.
Although Flakko has a special medical routine, our days were simple — leashed walks through the yard, fresh water, a little sun on the floor by the window, and nights cuddling on the couch.
It stormed, and we were able to ease Duke’s nervousness despite mom and dad not home (while Flakko slept like a baby!)
In the quiet, we were reminded how much love lives in the ordinary.
It’s a gift to care for someone’s home — and the animals they love. 🐾💕
