Lifeguards Needed!
Absolute Pool Management here! We are gearing up for the 2022 summer pool season and we are looking for lifeguards to join our seasonal team with the official season beginning the weekend before Memorial Day with orientation and ending in September, with most pools closing on Labor Day. APM provides lifeguards to HOA pools in the North metro area including Westminster, Arvada, Thornton, Broomfield, and Northglenn. Our ideal candidates are self-motivated individuals who are hardworking, have integrity, and have good communication skills.
Lifeguards for APM can have either a permanent position or a sub position. A permanent lifeguard typically has 15-30 scheduled hours a week (and can pick up shifts in our system for up to 40 hours), while a sub lifeguard would not have any permanently scheduled shifts. Permanent positions are offered to returning guards first, but there are always plenty of positions open. Payrates start at $16.25 an hour and increase base on experience, position, etc.
At APM we certify our lifeguards using the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course, but we accept all major certifications (i.e. Ellis, Star Guard, etc.) The primary purpose of the course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care. Prerequisites! All Candidates must:
1. Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
2. Swim 300 yards, continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
3. Tread water for 2 minutes, using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
• Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Swim goggles are not allowed.
• Surface dive, feet-first or headfirst, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
• Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath.
• Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our pool maintenance crew. This position is seasonal! The job begins Memorial Day weekend and ends Labor Day. Work hours are from 6am to 10am, 7 days a week. (Number of days can be flexible but the hours are always early morning.) All training will be provided.
