The deck had been through a full Midwest season — algae worked into the grain, grime along the boards, fence rails darkened from moisture sitting in the shade. We soaped it down first to break up the salt residue, then worked through it systematically with the pressure washer, keeping the pressure dialed in to protect the floor coating. We just wrapped a full power wash on a 1-story wood-sided home in Winnetka — 2,908 square feet of siding that had algae working into the grain and a season's worth of grime on top of it. The shaded front porch had its own layer of buildup, and the established landscaping close to the foundation meant we had to pre-wet the beds and work carefully throughout the day. Wood siding takes a deliberate pace — angle and pressure both matter — so we worked in sections and let the cleaning solution dwell before rinsing.
