I want to give the biggest shout out to Scott at North Pole Appliance Repair!!! What a genuine human and super knowledgeable! He helped me over the phone and told me where to get the parts cheaper. Literally made $0 from me but he made my entire weekend!

To repay him, I told him I would scream his business to the mountain tops... So here I am, screaming! 🤣

Seriously though, he's great! If you are in a pinch, give him a call!!

Good morning everyone!

A little Door Dash update:
I have talked with corporate at Taco Bell and McDonalds and they are not taking any steps to help us out. I think we can get more movement from local businesses. I drafted this letter to give to the places we truly want to see on door dash so please comment your favorite places.

Also, I am wondering how many dashers we have with base access? I would like to give a solid number to the local businesses to help encourage them. If you are considering signing up, its very easy to do! No childcare required! They have had a few "peak premiums" lately where you get an extra $1-3 per order. I mostly did an hour or 2 on Friday nights and Saturday mornings and averaged $25/hour in North Pole. If you want to dash Mon-Thurs, you will likely need to go to Fairbanks to make that much.

Help get our troops paid!!!
The National Military Family Association says more than 10,000 letters have already been sent to Congress through its Military Family Action Center, urging lawmakers to pass the bill that would ensure that troops, Defense Department civilians and Coast Guard members continue to receive pay and benefits during this shutdown.
The advocacy group made it easy for the public to join the campaign — supporters simply enter their name and address at this link (https://militaryfamilies.quorum.us/.../pay_our.../thanks) , and the organization sends a pre-drafted letter to their elected officials within minutes.
It literally took me 90 seconds!!!!

My vision for this business is to grow it into something that helps military families in any way possible. I'd love to hire a spouse/dependant. No experience required!
