Muskrats are members of the rodent family despite their similar appearance to a beaver. They will build lodges in bodies of water with nearby vegetation as opposed to huts with wood like the beaver. The issue that these rodents can create have to do with weakening water barriers and damaging the area around the body of water from their tunneling. Erosion and water drainage can be the result of their unwanted activities.
If you are having issues with muskrats, reach out, we will gladly assist you with coming up with a solution!

Fawn calls have begun!

Share this information to help friends who may stumble upon a fawn in their yard.

🦌During the day, momma deer have to run their errands and go for brunch. Rather than hire a nanny, the mother deer will drop her fawn off to a place with tall grass or a place of comfort away from a predator.

🦌This special spot is often our backyard! Make sure to check your yards before letting your four legged friends out, as they may not want a new best friend, such as a newborn fawn in their yard.

BUT HOW DO I SAVE THE FAWN?

📣First off, take a deep breath.

🔔Look at the ears of the fawn. Are they curled up? If so, that means we are dehydrated and may need help.

📣Are we screaming at the top of our lungs and following the human around like a teenager looking for their missing favorite shirt that mom obviously has? If so, that also means we may need help.

🔔Our hospital is open 7 days a week 9am-5pm where you can bring the fawn in for a quick check-up. We will be able to advise if we can attempt a reunite or if it’s time to look for a new mom.

Keep your eyes open for opossums that may start showing up in your yard more frequently as the temperatures warm up! Although it is thought that they help with the management tics and bugs, it is true, however they carry a plethora of diseases. They can be a carrier of Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM) a neurologic disease, Coccidiosis and Tuberculosis. If you have an opossum problem, give us a call and we will help to resolve your issue and manage the spread of harmful diseases.

We have been receiving a mass number of calls about removing/relocating companion animals (cats and dogs). This is unlawful for us to do under the Goddard's law. In these circumstances, we strongly recommend reaching out to your county dog warden or humane society. Thank you!
