Are you a fan of keratin treatments for your hair? Methylene glycol or formaline can be in so-called "formaldehyde-free" products. These ingrediants release formeldehyde when heated during the straightening process. It has been shown to cause everything from allergic reactions to cancer. The presence of formeldehyde in salon treatments has been similarly concealed by manufacturers. Please make sure the label is completely Formaldehyde-free in ALL it's disguises: Formic aldehyde, methanol, methylene oxide, oxomethane, oxymethylene, paraform, & timonacic acid (aka thiazolidine carboxylic acid).
