Billiards Sports Bar & grill
If I could give less than one star, I absolutely would.
My husband was at Diamond Billiards tonight with fellow employees from our company. They ordered a pizza and waited over 30 minutes, only to have someone finally come tell them the pizza had been burnt and they would have to wait for another one to be made. Frustrating, but they remained patient and understanding. The original waitress was actually very pleasant throughout the situation.
When the second pizza finally arrived, another waitress came to the table and asked how everything was going. The guys honestly answered that everything was okay other than the extremely long wait for the pizza. Instead of handling the feedback professionally, she immediately became rude, confrontational, and aggressive toward my husband.
He was not disrespectful, loud, or causing a scene in any way. He simply answered the question SHE asked. She continued escalating the situation to the point he walked away to the bathroom just to remove himself from the confrontation. When he came back out and calmly tried to ask what the issue was, she continued with the hostile attitude.
From their description, she appeared intoxicated, and they were later informed she had been called in last minute due to being understaffed. Being short staffed does not excuse speaking to customers this way.
What made this situation even worse was when the manager came to the table. Instead of trying to de-escalate the situation, address the concerns, or handle the customers professionally, he became loud, hostile, and aggressively threw them out of the restaurant.
After they returned home, I personally called the restaurant in an attempt to calmly resolve the issue. I asked to speak with the GM, but instead was transferred to the on-duty manager, Tim — the same manager who threw them out. He was immediately angry, aggressive, dismissive, and completely unwilling to listen to anything I had to say. When I politely asked for the General Manager’s name, he refused to provide it and stated he “didn’t have to answer my questions.”
As a local business owner myself, I understand that stressful nights happen and staffing issues happen. However, there is absolutely no excuse for employees and management treating customers this way. Burnt food and long waits can be forgiven when handled professionally. Hostility, aggression, and disrespect cannot.
I would still appreciate the opportunity to resolve this matter directly with the General Manager. My phone number is 239-233-1331.
