With temperatures dropping throughout the week, be prepared to protect your property. Here are some tips from your friends at RooterNOW;
* Maintain proper heat within your home
* Insulate pipe, particularly the ones exposed to the cold
* Run a trickle of cold water on each floor of your home
* Remove all garden hoses from your hose bibs and cover the bibs with Styrofoam insulating caps
* Make sure crawlspace covers are properly shut
* If your pipes happen to freeze, use a hairdryer to unthaw them

Pictured is a 2-inch copper drainpipe that was leaking in the ceiling in our client's property. Our client originally reached out because they noticed water staining on the ceiling tiles and believed it was a waterline leak. After inspection our team discovered it was the brittle copper drain line. Our team cut out the damaged pipe and replaced it with new PVC. Did you know RooterNOW has both a vac-trailer and a E35 Excavator? These two big machineries come in handy when dealing with water leaks under hardened surfaces. We used our E35 excavator to remove the concrete covering the area of the leak. After the concrete was lifted, we then used the vac-trailer to pump the water from the hole to expose the broken pipe. Here is a before and after of a mainline that had heavy root and debris intrusion.
