In Memoriam: Lloyd Truax Sr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Truax Sr., the original owner of Truax, who left us last Wednesday at the age of 92. Lloyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His unwavering dedication to his family and business made a significant impact on everyone who knew him.
Lloyd Truax Sr. founded Truax in 1958, cleaning catch basins using only one truck. His commitment and strong work ethic laid the foundation for the company’s future success. Though he officially retired in 2003, Lloyd continued to come into the shop five days a week, doing everything possible to support his son’s transition into leadership and now his grandson’s upcoming takeover of the company. His work helped ensure the continued success of the business.
Lloyd’s presence at Truax remained strong up until very recently. He was always willing to help, whether by running to the post office, picking up a stranded employee, or collecting parts. His kindness and willingness to assist made him beloved by both employees and customers. Two years ago, in recognition of his enduring commitment, Lloyd was presented with a giant lounge chair so he could rest comfortably when tired.
His lifelong devotion to the company and its people will be fondly remembered. Lloyd’s wonderful sense of humor and caring nature will be deeply missed by all.
