Mosquito Shield's mission is for our customers to enjoy their yards by delivering a mosquito-free environment that allows them to spend more time outdoors. Mosquito Shield started out as an idea, when our President and Founder, David Briggs, saw that there were not any dependable or affordable options on the market for
residential mosquito control. During the first few years, David constantly researched the life cycle of the mosquito, and set about testing different formulations and application methods to arrive at the Mosquito Shield system that we use today. At the same time, David had been running a very successful franchise for a nationally recognized lawn care service. More than 20 years as a franchisee taught David what it takes to get customers, serve them efficiently, and keep them satisfied. Running his own lawn care franchise also gave David the firsthand understanding of the contributions that the corporation and franchisee must make for the business to succeed. Michael Moorhouse began working for David’s lawn care company back in 2008. Over the next few years, as the locally run mosquito business continued to grow, Michael began focusing his efforts on Mosquito Shield. In 2011, the decision was made to grow Mosquito Shield nationally. David and Michael began working together to develop Mosquito Shield Franchise Corporation, and formalized the effort in February of 2013. Michael started representing Mosquito Shield at franchise shows around the country and has now opened franchises in 24 states. Brad Maher joined the team shortly after the formation of the franchise corporation. While David and Michael were working on growing the system and training new locations, Brad quickly became the glue that held the daily operations together. To this day, Brad serves as the day to day “go to” person for our franchisees and is usually the first one in and the last to leave. All three have at one point served as a branch manager, running the day-to-day operations of a mosquito control company. This means, when you turned to them for questions, you know that you getting support from people that have been in the same trenches. Since then, Mosquito Shield Franchise Corp has developed a supporting cast of individuals dedicated to the success of its franchisees. From marketing, administration and accounting, there is support for you every step of the way.
