Field report 5/8/26

Good morning friends! And happy Friday!

Our field is looking great this morning! The French Fields lavender is already showing a little color, which is at least a week earlier than normal! The newer rows, planted over the last two years, are filling in nicely, with only a few plants lost. The older rows are looking good as well, with minimal plant loss.

I’m spending a lot of time in the field weeding and mowing, getting everything ready so we can open to the public for U-cut for the first time, hopefully mid-June!

I love being out in the field on these cool mornings — just me, a dog or two, birds, and butterflies! 💜

Well would you look at that??!! This French Fields lavender is quite eager to get the season going…and I’m definitely not complaining!!

This is such a fun time of year in the field as the lavender wakes up from its winter nap. Lots of weeding and lots of mowing, but how wonderful it is to be doing this work!! And the field is looking better each day 💜
