I'm no angel (in NYC too long); though I'm a product of Grandpa's angel, a man I followed into four room houses smaller than an apartment with "4 rms & a path", he advertised as a WV broker of tiny homes with outhouses and others. He would take all usable items left in vacant homes, pack them up in boxes with string, and either anonymously drop them off at the homes of needy families, or send them

via mail at his expense to others in similar circumstances. That's how I learned Grandpa's definition of real estate: community sharing. It's why he was the grand marshal with my grandmother of the town jubilee parade, more well known and loved than the mayor, with integrity almost unheard of today. It's a challenge to continue that legacy these days in the big city, and it's taken years, though everyone we work with becomes a friend, with no negative reviews so far. It may not be impossible to please everyone into the future; our mantra is we try the hardest, because of Grandpa's heart, and legacy. His name was Walter Cheek, of native Cherokee descent.
