Then back again when the sun sets.
Pennsylvania in October is scraping your windshield in a hoodie at 7 a.m. and eating lunch in shorts beside the hoodie you’re now angry at. You turn the heat on driving to work, switch to AC coming home, and spend both trips staring directly into the sun. There’s a winter coat in the back seat, sunscreen in the console, and a leaf stuck under the wiper that’s survived three weather systems and a car wash. Then somebody says, “Beautiful day,” and you have to ask what time they were outside.
