Looking for a local Friday night plan? The Plains Lions Club Cruise-In rolls into Uptown Athens tonight at 5:30 PM on Court Street between Washington and State. 🚗

It’s another good reason to get out, support nearby businesses, and enjoy the community.

What local event should we add to next week’s roundup? Drop it in the comments so neighbors can find it.

Every once in a while, life gives you a moment like this— Still. Quiet. Honest. Where you can see what’s really going on, not just above the surface… but underneath it too.

That’s what self-reflection is. Not beating yourself up. Not overanalyzing. Just checking in and asking:
Am I rising in the direction I want to go?
Or am I just floating wherever the wind blows?

Sometimes what you see in the reflection is hard.
Sometimes it’s beautiful. Usually, it’s both.

But here’s the good news:
Awareness is the beginning of change.
And reflection is what helps you stop living on autopilot.

So take a deep breath. Look at your life. Then ask yourself, “Am I proud of where I’m headed?”

No Is a Complete Sentence

You don’t owe anyone an explanation for protecting your peace.

“No” doesn’t need justification, it’s a full sentence.

Healthy people respect boundaries.
Insecure people test them.

Stop over-explaining decisions that were made to honor your capacity and your calling.

Early on, people show up. Messages come. Meals are dropped off. Support surrounds you.

Then time passes.
Life resumes.
The phone grows quiet.

But grief stays.

That silence can begin to speak if you let it. You start wondering if you should be better by now. You question whether your pain has become inconvenient. You feel pressure to move on, to stop bringing it up, to carry it alone.

Scripture tells us something different. God does not rush grief. He meets it. He draws near to the brokenhearted, not the efficient. Your pain does not expire because others returned to normal. Missing them does not mean you are stuck. Love does not operate on a timeline.

Grief is not a lack of faith. It is the cost of love. And God is not uncomfortable with it.

So try this. Tell one safe person how you are actually doing. Ask for presence, not answers. Let God meet you in the place where the noise faded, because He never left.

Highlander Laundromat Co.had the absolute pleasure of having Ms. Olivia at the facility during our night shift crew this week. She was ‘in charge of the pillow cases’… and boy, they were perfect!!! (We snuck in some cartwheels and hide & go seek 👀😉😊).

We team up with absolutely incredible partners like Book Hocking that provide jobs in the Nelsonville Community (pretty incredible 😊).

Sweet Olivia is a ray of sunshine and blessed to have incredible parents, Brittany Souders & E-5 Sergeant Christopher Allen Souders, who work very, very hard to provide for their family. Words can’t describe what they sacrifice to make it all happen—it's powerful.

We are blessed to be a part of this incredible community and we have BIG dreams & visions for what is ahead—and it starts with being great role models for our next generation like Sweet Olivia.

We are a SAFE, friendly, & clean laundromat with Wash, Dry, Fold & Pick Up & Delivery services, and we have big plans to continue to grow and create jobs for this community, so Sweet Olivia can call her home… ‘home’.

Thank you, Nelsonville, for keeping your laundromat an incredible environment!!!

Here's how easy laundry day can be:

1️⃣Drop off your bag of dirty laundry
2️⃣Go do literally anything else
3️⃣Pick it up washed, dried, and folded

That's it. That's our Wash/Dry/Fold service. Priced by the pound, done by people who fold better than your mother-in-law.
