🚨Know the Signs Before It’s Too Late
Formosan termites (Formosan subterranean termite) are one of the most aggressive and destructive termite species we deal with here on the Gulf Coast. They don’t just damage wood—they can compromise the structure of your home faster than most people realize.
Here’s what to look for 👇
🔎 Mud Tubes and Mud in Sheetrock
Pencil-sized dirt tubes running up your foundation, walls, or even inside garages. These are highways termites use to stay protected while they travel. Mud “kick outs” on interior walls.
🪵 Hollow or Damaged Wood
Tap on baseboards, door frames, or window sills—if it sounds hollow or feels soft, termites may already be inside.
💡 Swarmers (Flying Termites)
Usually seen in the evening May and June especially after warm rains. If you notice a sudden swarm around lights or windows, that’s a major red flag.
🪽 Discarded Wings
After swarming, termites shed their wings. You might find piles inside near windows, doors, or light fixtures.
🌫️ Blistering or Bubbling Paint
Walls that look like they have water damage could actually be termites tunneling just beneath the surface.
⚠️ Why it matters:
Formosan termites build massive colonies—sometimes in the millions—and can cause serious structural damage in a short amount of time.
If you notice ANY of these signs, don’t wait. Early detection can save you thousands.
