For nearly 80 years, Triple S Member Chemcraft Industries has been serving the Chicago area with a commitment to integrity, service, and lasting customer relationships. Founded in 1947, the company has grown from supplying industrial accounts across the region to becoming a trusted partner for businesses throughout the Chicagoland market.

Today, Michelle Munvez Klein serves as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, where no two days look the same. From working with customers in the field to supporting marketing initiatives and helping lead the business, Michelle enjoys wearing many hats. "I love sales. I love working with my customers. I like being out of the office," she says.

What has remained constant throughout Chemcraft's history is its commitment to putting customers first. Michelle believes the company's longevity, integrity, and deep roots in the Chicago community are what continue to set it apart.

"I'll always prioritize a demo, training, or troubleshooting with my customers because I know that hands-on support and customer experience are what keep them coming back," she shares.

While Michelle was recently honored as one of the industry's Women to Recognize in Jan/San by Maintenance Sales News, she says her greatest accomplishment isn't an award. It's knowing she's helped a customer solve a problem and improve their business.

Being part of the Triple S family has also played a major role in Chemcraft's success.

"Being a Triple S Member has been one of the best things for our business," Michelle says. "We're all in on the Triple S brand, the RDC, and everything Triple S has to offer. The camaraderie of friends, mentors, and resources is invaluable, and I'm truly fortunate to be part of this group."

As Chemcraft looks ahead to celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2027, Michelle is excited about continuing the company's legacy while balancing another role she treasures just as much: being a mom to her two young boys.

Triple S is proud to recognize Members like Chemcraft Industries whose commitment to service, strong relationships, and community continues to strengthen our network. We look forward to celebrating this incredible milestone with Michelle and the entire Chemcraft team.

Want a quick look at the health of your cleaning program? Start in the janitor’s closet.

It might seem like a small part of the facility, but the condition of a cleaning closet can reveal a lot about what is happening throughout the building.

Start with the chemical shelf. Are there multiple products being used for essentially the same task? Are secondary bottles properly labeled? Are concentrates being diluted consistently, or is each employee mixing products a little differently? Too many products can make training harder, increase inventory, and create more opportunities for misuse. A well-designed program should make it easy for employees to know what product to use, where to use it, and how much they need.

Then look at the equipment. A vacuum with a full bag or dirty filter will not perform the way it was designed to. An autoscrubber with worn squeegees can leave water behind and create extra passes. Worn pads and brushes can affect cleaning results. These may look like minor maintenance issues, but when equipment is used across thousands of square feet every day, small performance losses quickly turn into lost labor.

Organization matters too. If employees spend the first ten minutes of a shift searching for microfiber, liners, chemicals, or the correct floor pad, that time is being paid for without a square foot being cleaned. Across multiple employees, shifts, and buildings, those minutes add up.

Finally, ask whether someone new could walk into that closet and understand the cleaning program. Are products clearly identified? Are dilution instructions and safety information accessible? Is equipment stored properly? Are tools separated in a way that helps prevent cross-contamination? A cleaning program that exists only in the memory of experienced employees becomes vulnerable every time someone calls out, changes shifts, or leaves the organization.

The goal is not simply to have a neat closet. The goal is to create a workspace that supports consistency, safety, and productivity.

This is an area where a Triple S Member can bring another set of experienced eyes to your operation. Our Members can help facilities review product inventories, simplify cleaning systems, evaluate dispensing and dilution control, identify equipment maintenance needs, and train teams on processes that are easier to repeat from one employee or building to the next.

Sometimes improving an entire cleaning program starts with opening one door.

For Bobby Zagers, the jan/san industry has always been a family affair. As a proud third-generation industry professional, his roots trace back to his grandfather’s janitorial supply business in Michigan. After helping launch Zagers Brand with his father in 1998, Bobby joined GEM Supply Company in 2008. Today, he serves as Chief Growth Officer, where his mission is exactly what the title suggests: growth.

"My job is growth...that's the whole job," Bobby says. "The motto has always been: if you're not growing, you're dying."

That mindset has helped shape GEM's approach to business. Whether growth comes organically or through acquisition, Bobby is always looking for new opportunities to move the company forward.

One of the things that sets GEM apart is its commitment to innovation through what the company calls its "Pillars." Programs like the Intuitive Inspection App, Inventory IQ, and the Academy of Cleaning Excellence help customers solve problems in ways that go beyond supplying products.

For Bobby, however, one of his proudest accomplishments isn't a sales number. It's watching his leadership team develop.

"The development of our sales leadership has been the thing I'm most proud of," he shares.

Triple S has also played an important role in GEM's continued growth. Bobby credits the relationships and collaboration within the network as one of the organization's greatest strengths.

"One idea from another Triple S Member turned into a $6 million deal for us," Bobby says. "There are brilliant people in Triple S, and when they talk, we listen."

Helping others succeed is what motivates Bobby every day. He compares his leadership style to teaching someone how to fish.

"I want to help them get ready and bait the hook, then watch them bring the fish in. It gets even better when they can drive the boat."

Looking ahead, Bobby is excited about the role technology and AI will play in the future of GEM. His vision isn't to replace people, but to empower them by removing administrative tasks so sales professionals can spend more time doing what they do best: building relationships, solving customer problems, and growing accounts.

Triple S is proud to recognize leaders like Bobby Zagers and GEM Supply Company, whose commitment to innovation, collaboration, and developing people continues to strengthen both their business and the entire Triple S network.

"Rest Assured" may have been the headline, but the message behind this vintage 1970's Triple S ad is one that's still relevant today: providing reliable products and solutions that help businesses get the job done.

For decades, Triple S has worked alongside its Members to deliver quality products, trusted expertise, and exceptional value to customers.

The ad may be from another era, but the mission is timeless: helping our Members grow, compete, and succeed.
