The dusting process is the heart of cleaning. In this process all solid particles are removed such as: sand, soil, little stones , solid waste, etc. they usually are stacked between the weave, and can not be dissolved with the washing process . if soil and dust are not taking out properly the washing process get more tough and increase the risk the soil remain and it would become mud , therefore the rug odor would remain and the color become dull, loosing the brightness.

The Dirt is diluted with a PH neutral shampoo and some solutions are used to soften grease , sticky dirt etc .

On Another hands , stains must be treated with the right product which makes the proper chemical reaction in order to neutralize the stains components or just fade it.
It should be taken into account , rug material , reaction of the chemical with the material and the stain.
So, before try to take off a stain from the rug yourself , you have to ensure you have the knowledge enough of chemistry otherwise and most likely you damage the rug or make a worse stain .

Keeping your oriental rugs in good condition is essential to maintain their value and original characteristics. Loss of wool (yarn) in the fringes and edges is common, due to wear and tear, pet damage, vacuum cleaner etc. Maintenance such us overcasting, surging. etc, are essential.
If you want to remove the fringes never cut them, take them to a professional to hide them as seen in the photo, to keep the edges firm and stretched you can place a leather strip on them.
