✨ Some backyards aren't built overnight... they're built with vision, grit, and a whole lot of determination.

A couple of years ago, Kelly and Russell came to us with a vision. Kelly had the inspiration, and Russell had the muscle, determination, and countless hours to bring it to life.

Today, their outdoor space is everything they imagined and more.

This remains one of our all-time favorite pool designs. Every curve creates a cozy gathering space, and the freeform shape blends perfectly with the natural surroundings.

🚧💦 This is why experience matters.

One thing we truly appreciate about having an owner who is also an experienced pool builder is the ability to understand the why behind problems — not just cover them up.

We were recently called out for a remodel consultation because the stone decking was cracking throughout the backyard. After taking a closer look, Tyler explained that while the pool itself was stable, the decking was actually pulling away from the pool.

As he pulled back loose stone, he found form boards that had been left under the concrete during the original build. Over time, those boards rot and create voids that allow shifting and cracking. We also noticed there didn’t appear to be rebar tying the decking into the pool structure, and there was little to no proper drainage in place — both major factors that can lead to movement and failure over time.

At Backyard Breeze, we focus heavily on the details you don’t see — proper drainage, dirt work, and structural support that create long-term stability and help prevent problems down the road.

Doing it right the first time matters. 👊
