🤔🤯
Here’s a wild thought — if every spider on Earth decided to team up, they could theoretically eat every human alive in under a year. 🕷️😱
That’s not an urban myth — it’s based on real ecological math. Scientists have estimated that the global spider population consumes between 400 and 800 million tons of prey every year. For comparison, the total combined weight of all humans on Earth is around 350 million tons. In other words, spiders already eat more biomass annually than all humans weigh.
These quiet hunters are everywhere — from dense rainforests and arid deserts to attics, gardens, and city parks. Most of their meals are insects, but occasionally, larger spiders have been documented catching small frogs, lizards, or even birds. Their sheer numbers and hunting success make them one of nature’s most powerful and efficient predators.
And yet, despite their dark reputation, spiders are among humanity’s greatest allies. They keep pest populations in check, protect crops from destruction, and maintain balance in ecosystems that would otherwise be overrun by insects. Without them, the planet would quickly drown in bugs.
So yes — they could eat us. But they don’t want to. They’d much rather stick to their mosquito buffet and stay out of sight. Maybe next time you see one in the corner of your room, you’ll think twice before reaching for the shoe.
