Long Post Alert 🚨
I’m going to try not to get too emotional with this one, so bare with me.
This 2023 Cadillac Escalade has been in our care since the client drove it home brand new, custom build. On April 21, 2024, we coated it with our signature 9-Year Crystal Serum Ultra on all painted surfaces, applied Gtechniq glass coating, and our Gtechniq rim coating. Every month, we maintained it with a wash and 10-point inspection.
On Nov 1, 2024, during routine maintenance, the client shared that a pool company next door created heavy dust(Gunite) that compromised the coating. After consulting with our rep, we learned it could cost up to $10,000 to fix. The client relayed this to the pool company—who refused and instead brought in another detailer. He claimed he could remove the coating for $250.
At first, we considered working together to recoat afterward—but the detailer’s practices weren’t what we wanted to be associated with. He ended up teaming with another company, and both tried to make us look bad in front of our client. I told them directly their approach was unprofessional, and it wouldn’t end well.
To be fair, they did remove the Gunite—but they failed to restore the vehicle’s original protection. In the end, the client called us back to do what we do best:

Now the Escalade looks better than ever, and the client is happy again.
👉 Moral of the story: Be careful who you try to throw under the bus… because that same bus just might drag you away.
